Calabria - white sand dark shadows

Siderno. Where the sand is white and the shadows are polite

Somewhere between the end of the world and the last espresso lies Calabria. More precisely, south of Siderno. Even more precisely, a stretch of coast so deserted that even Google Maps shrugs.
Here, the Ionian Sea meets white sand, as if someone had forgotten to continue filming the set for a mafia movie. No towels, no loungers, no Wi-Fi – just the gentle hiss of the surf and the occasional crunch of black shoes on pale pebbles.
The few figures you encounter—dark sunglasses, silent gazes—greet you in a friendly manner. Perhaps too friendly. You greet them back. Better safe than sorry.
Calabria isn't for Instagram. It's too real. Too raw. Too beautiful to be loud.
And that's exactly why you have to go. As long as someone still says hello.
